Safdie Architects has completed a comprehensive renovation of Moshe Safdie’s unit at Habitat 67, icon of modern architecture and historic monument designated by the Quebec Ministry of Culture. The 10th floor duplex unit, which originally belonged to the Commissioner of Expo 67, is perched atop the residential complex, looking across the Saint Lawrence River towards downtown Montréal.

Inspired by the HGTV phenomenon, Timber Kings, the owners of this luxurious lodge in the Laurentian Hills sought to design a one-of-a-kind cedar cabin not found in their native UK. They chose Quebec's Mont Tremblant as the backdrop for an adventurously modern take on pioneer life.

Le Lodge, nom donné à la maison-modèle du Quartier Huit situé à Mont-Tremblant, est aussi vaste et éclairé que la forêt qui l’entoure. Son toit cathédrale d’une hauteur de 19 pieds, combiné à sa fenestration abondante et ses puits de lumière, donne presque l’impression de vivre à l’extérieur. La superficie d’à peine 1065 pieds carrés de cette résidence est pour le moins trompeuse. Pour rendre justice à son immense volume, il faudrait sans doute la mesurer en pieds cubes.
